Running club name generator
Need a name for your run crew, running club or group chat? Add where you run, pick a style, and tap a name to copy it.
How to pick a name that sticks
- Say it out loud. If it’s awkward to shout across a car park, it won’t last.
- Keep it to two or three words. It has to fit on a group chat title and an Instagram handle.
- Use your place. “[Park] Pack” tells new runners where to turn up.
- Avoid in-jokes at first. They’re great later, but a new member shouldn’t need a story to understand the name.
- Check it’s free. Search it with your city and on Instagram before you print anything.

Name questions
What makes a good running club name?
Short, easy to say out loud, and tied to something your group shares: where you run, when you run, or a joke from an early run. Two or three words is plenty.
Should we put our place in the name?
Usually, yes. A park, street or neighbourhood in the name tells new runners where you meet and helps people nearby find you when they search.
How do we check a name isn’t taken?
Search the name with your city, and check Instagram and Strava for a club with the same name nearby. A different word order or one extra word is usually enough to make it yours.
Can we change the name later?
Yes, and many crews do once an inside joke sticks. Pick something you’re happy with for now; the people matter more than the name.
