How to share Apple Watch runs and workouts with friends
Ways to share your Apple Watch runs with friends: Apple’s own Fitness sharing, posting to a running app, or a private crew feed. What each one shows.
Your Apple Watch records every run, but by default nobody else sees them. If you want friends to see your runs (and to see theirs), there are three main ways, each showing something different.
1. Apple’s Fitness sharing
In the Fitness app on iPhone, you can share your activity with friends who also have an Apple Watch. They see your Activity rings and the workouts you’ve done, and you can send each other messages. Apple also offers friendly week-long competitions between two people.
Good for: friends who all wear an Apple Watch and care about rings. Less good for: friends who run with a Garmin or just a phone, or seeing route maps and photos as a group.
2. A social running app
Many running apps can import Apple Watch workouts and post them to a profile your followers see. That works well if you want a wider audience; check the privacy settings, especially for maps that start at your home. See how to share runs privately.
3. A private crew feed
If you only want a few friends to see your runs, a crew app is simpler: everyone’s runs in one feed only that group sees, whatever they recorded them with.
How RunPack does it
RunPack reads the runs your Apple Watch saves to Apple Health, so you don’t have to change how you record. Turn on run sharing and each run appears in your crew’s private feed with distance, time and pace, never heart rate. Friends without a watch record with their iPhone; friends with a Garmin sync through Apple Health. RunPack also has its own Apple Watch app with watch-face complications. Free for crews of up to 4. Apple features are as we understand them in October 2026. Apple Watch is a trademark of Apple; RunPack isn’t affiliated with Apple.
